2016 Berserk Anime Project Will Air in July, Confirmed to be an Anime Series

Amazing, mind-blowing, riots-of-happiness-causing news, everyone! Today the website for the upcoming 2016 Berserk anime project launched and confirmed not only what format the project will be in, but a release date for it that is probably sooner than the next chapter of manga.

The website states that this new Berserk project with be an anime SERIES, not a movie, and will be launching in July 2016.

The series will air on WOWOW first, before being airing on MBS's "Animeism" programming in Japan, according to AnimeNewsNetwork. While there is no word on how long the anime will be, it was confirmed that it will be simply named "Berserk," much like its 1997 counterpart.

When asked about the upcoming anime project, Muira commented in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine, the publication that publishes the Berserk manga series, that the new anime will show Gutts in his Black Swordsman style. So there is no doubt that this will pick up from after the Golden Age Arc featured in both the movies and the 1997 Berserk anime series.

Finally.
