The New Berserk 2016 Trailer Looks Gross

...and not in a good way.

The new Berserk PV released on the NBC UniversalYouTube channel on June 10th gave us yet another look into the new Berserk anime series, but it was something that fans could have done with out. Expanding on the previous characters, the new trailer shows more action, and things are not good.

For those that remember the old Berserk game on Dreamcast, essentially it looks like that. Everything looks clunky and less fluid that even Berserk's 1997 anime. One can only hope it is the trailer not doing itself justice.

CGI, CGI action everywhere. It is not even the good kind of CGI where you are not sure that it is, and not sure that it isn't. The question is, is it better than the movies or worse?

Berserk Anime 2016 Offical Teaser Trailer Released

NBC Universal released the above teaser trailer, the first since the small glimpse shown at Winter Comiket 2015. The above video shows off not just the animation, but the soundtrack as well. With an interesting styilized mix of 2D and and CGI visuals, so there's hope that the anime will feature less awkward CGI than the previous movies.

For those wondering about the Nietzsche quote, it translates to: ''He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you''

As for a translation of the trailer, it begins with someone, likely Slan, saying: 'It's useless. You can't run away. You are ours.'?

Then the  Nietzsche quote is repeated in Japanese.

EDIT: Since this posting, someone has posted up the trailer with English subtitle. You can watch it here.
